The Salon ad is not a video or a flash animation, etc. It's a plain image that is removalable with a single click.

It's like reading a newspaper article that says "continued on B5" halfway through (and between you and B5 is a full page ad). I think you wouldn't have a problem continuing to read that article.

Turning a page == clicking a link.
