Hello everyone, I'm back by desertrat66 2003-02-06 07:13:31
3400+ Flying miles 1400+ driving miles 20 hours of sleep in 5 days and I have finally returned from my Mother's funeral. While it is still painful my family is finding comfort in the fact that she is no longer suffering.

At 64 years old she was suffering way too many afflictions for someone 20 years her senior. The final cause of death was believed to be Stroke or Heart Attack, but the one thing we do know for certian was that it was brought on by the effects of her severe osteoperosis. She used to stand 5'5", when she passed her height was 4'3". Her heart and lungs when last tested were as good as an atheltic 20 year old's but since the osteoperosis had her so hunched over her lung capacity was 25% and she had to have oxygen constantly.

For those of you wondering, she never smoked, never drank alcohol, and walked 10 to 20 miles a day for exercise before she got ill.

So once again to all the UFie ladies out there, get your calcium any way you can, and get tested regularly (I believe they recommend starting at 40) it's a horrible painful way to go and I sincerely hope no one else here has to deal with this disease.
