we've found that rules do reveal new complications at extreme conditions - like the whole mass/speed/energy thing (sorry, brain is refusing to recall it).

Where as you add energy to an object, the mass increases as well as the speed. Unnoticable at low speed.

So yeah, sounds plausible to me.
