Scrolling down, I came upon this discussion, and it reminded me of something that occurred to me a while back, but I'm only now getting around to mentioning it:

Isn't it time we came up with a new gender-neutral title of respect?
Wouldn't it make online communication simpler and less embarrassing to have a polite title of respect to use that had no ability to offend?
