...the information has to be stored away somewhere, even if this somewhere is a copper molecule in the die. It has to be stored because it is just impossible to swap information in a logically single process.
All you can do is pipeline the process and store the information on the way from one memory block to another on the wires between them...

But what the heck... it's sunday... can't you guys forget about coding a single day? :-)
