Linux has developed more bells and whistles in their distributions.
and it works with a greater variety of new or oddball hardware...
BUT
I've heard MANY folks claim that BSD is more efficient, stable,
secure and will support a heavier load on the same machine.
-- you have to give credit where credit is due
Much of what people think of as "linux" is actually the applications,
tools, and features that came from GNU, Gnome, XFree86
and such... most of those CAN be run on BSD as well.
Now, with that being said I have much more experience with Linux,
than I do with BSD.
