Windows is a good operating system. Sure, it requires oodles of resources and will expand to fill your harddrive dispite any attempts you make to prevent it. Every time I've ever seen it fail, it was because a user did something idiotc like installing the wrong drivers, or the manufactorer did something idiotic like running a PIII-1GHz in a small case with no ventilation and a 90W power supply. Security vulnerabilities however, are plentiful because hte manufactorer doesn't release patches often enough.
Linux is a better operating system. It handles resources much better, is a nicer player on networks, and I've also never seen it screw up on it's own. Security Vulnerabilities may be seemingly plentiful because some people have nothing better to do than to poke for holes in source code, but they get released very very quickly, usually befor the notice that there is a hole.
There, if anyone wants ot try shoving words into my mouth on this, they'll be heard better - echoing around the hollows of your own anus. |
