Least secure OS? Linux! by Bealz2006-11-19 12:55:59

However you seem to forget that unlike Microsoft, Linux will not attempt to downplay vulnerabilities, in fact for every Linux related CERT notice I have gotten in the last six months we had already recieved either a patch or a work around from the vendor.

Microsoft on the other hand will deny, downplay, and generally ignore vulnerabilities until exploit code is freely available.

The fact that the source code for most Linux software is freely available to anyone makes the number of security vulnerabilities found unsurprising. When you consider the number of vulnerabilities found by chance in Windows applications; one has to wonder how many more would be found were the source publicly released.
