there were lights :) and if you moved fast enough you'd make it in time, but I tend not to run up stairs :)

Basically what it did was the motion sensor caught the movement, turned on the lights, then when you went up the stairs it could no longer see the motion, so it waited a few seconds and turned off.

Most people would get 2/3 of the way up before it shut off lol.

Its all fixed now so can't complain, but it makes a good example :)
