I read an article by one of the elders of SF(Asimov, Clark, Heinlein or one of the others). He said he was in a post-convention drinking session with a group of SF writers, including L. Ron Hubbard. When speculating on how to acheive your topic line (Rich+Sex), Mr. Hubbard said that a cult would be the way to go. It seems he did. Thus Scientology.
