I only repeat them back if they weren't clear. But when they are clear, why bother. I've actually can't think of any instance I wrote a phone number down incorrectly. My bigger gripe is in voicemail. Why is it that when someone leaves you a voicemail, and then go to give you their phone number, they suddenly go from a clear slow-speaking voice, to a fast mumbled blur of numbers, and don't bother to repeat. Sometimes I've had to repeat my voicemail message 5 or 6 times to get the whole phone number (each time getting 2 or 3 numbers down).
