Question is, which came first?

I think 'boob' as an action is probably a contraction of 'boo-boo', which is a childish term for a small injury or accident. Or, at least, that's my known meaning of 'boo-boo'.

Which makes me wonder if it means the same in America. Was Yogi's friend the result of careless parents?
