If you have a WAP supporting phone, you can't view HTML files with it. They have to be WML. And WML is not a subset of HTML - it's a different language. Yeah, some of the tags are the same, but forms are definitely different.
It's not easy to convert HTML files to WML. One of the reasons is that WML allows a lot less data - the gateway or the phone normally choke on as little as a half-K.
Moreover - the main thing about UF is, of course, the cartoon. Now, WAP does not support GIF - not in the current incarnation of WAP, at least (3G phones support WAP2 which supports more media and is more HTML, but there are very few 3G phones on the market, and they need a 3G infrastructure). Anyway - the cartoon needs to be converted to WBMP for common WAP phones. And it wouldn't fit on a small phone screen anyway. |
