Hi there! by JamesG 2003-01-13 01:56:13
Although my first post was technically made yesterday, I thought I'd say hi again, because the weekends are pretty quiet, and I don't want anyone thinking I'm being rude by not introducting myself properly.

And on to the important bit...

I'm wanting to get into linux, but don't have a clue where to start. I have seen 3 different distros (RedHat 8.0, suSE 7.3, Mandrake 9.0) and was hoping I could get some constructive commentary from you UFies on their pros and cons.
I've had some very useful info from my post yesterday evening, but I was told I'd get a bigger response if I posted during the week.

Oh, and another thing, please, no flames saying "X is better than Y 'cos Y sucks", it's my first day, and I don't want to get labelled a trouble-starter now do I?
