Has one knob. Adjusts the tension on leaning back. It also has a funky thing to adjust the height. I'm not sure how old it is. My dad told me it was old when he took it to college in the mid 60's... Most of the people I know refer to it as "that green monstrosity". Some of my friends put WD-40 on it one night, it hasn't been the same since. It's labeled: Harter Steel Chair Harter Corporation Sturgis, Michigan
