I don't know many coats like that that only have one pocket anyway (though it is possible)

I'd still put my money on the buttons. However it is badly drawn...as you can't tell for sure if it's buttoned up in the first one, nor can you see the other half of the coat in either pic to see if perhaps there are two sets of buttons, etc.
