I typically put in a fe drops, then spin hte fan around really fast by blowing on it. This rubs it all around inside ANd makes sure that any that will fly out flys out before it gets into your computer. I've done this to several fans, no problems yet :) Chevron even makes these little tubes of WD-40 that are perfect. They have a syrenge style to them (minus a shapr point mind you, just a very small tip...)
