Tech help needed by Thurog 2006-11-19 12:55:59
1st: I'm trying to get an ATI Mach32 (68800AX chipset) to run under XFree86 4.1.0.1, Debian Woody.

Anyone got this baby running? I'm told the Mach32 ain't going nowhere under 4.1.0, but the XFree86 ATI Readme lists the chipset as supported. Lowering the DefaultDepth for both screens to 8 (I try to get a 2nd monitor on my desk via Xinerama here) gives me nothing but my old one-monitor desktop, only dithered. Various other attempts to troubleshoot were as futile as trying to get my dog to do the Hampster Dance.

In case you're interested, here are XFree86.0.log (search for the string "Unable" for the error msg) and XF86Config-4. I'm running this setup right now.

2nd: Anyone able to access WWDN right now? I can ping the box, but looks dead http-wise.

Thanks for looking,
Thurog

P.S.: Yes, I already did the rain dance, too.
