During the week-long fire strike last year someone thought it would be funny to smash the 'Fire: Break Glass' in the Student's Union bar - thus emptying the nightclub, the bars, and preventing us techies from completing the rigging that night. We were on a roll until that happened, afterwards we were cold and tired so went home early. If I ever catch the guy responsible, he'll find out just how long a scaff pole is when stuck up where the sun don't shine.
