If you have any way of getting into Costco, they have TDK and Maxell CD-Rs for like, $39 for 100. I've never had any trouble with either of them, even with my 48x burner. The TDK ones are rated to 40x, but hell, there ain't no way my burner is actually going to get 48x... that's about 7.2 megs/second - faster than my hard drive reads. At any rate, cd-roms speed up continually over the course of the session. The cd is long done by the time it'd get to the full 48x.
