difficult not to with God.
It's hard to know for sure just why, but my (rather vague) impression is that God is slowly teaching/building/improving humanity. Given free will, He can't just wave His arm and create the human he wants. He has to build us, as it were. When the time was right (ie His project had matured enough) He sent Christ to set us on the next leg of our path.
God knows [:+)] what His next change will be! (Events never seem to match what was THOUGHT to be predicted exactly, but they usually are identifiable by hindsight.) |
