Killing a person is a crime.
Killing an economy is a metaphor.
If I presented your scenario ("if you ruin the economy people will starve, then they die, so it's attempted murder"), I would be joking. So I don't want to look like a fool by spending several paragraphs explaining why putting Mom & Pop shops out of business is not morally equivalent to murdering Mom & Pop. If you did mean it seriously, let me know and then I'll continue arguing with you about it.
