Microsoft had taken Sun's java platform, modified it so it worked differently (which broke the license argeement) and broke some certain parts of it (which made it not platform portable.. er.. yeah. The java apps had ot be written differently).

Sun of course had a coniption fit over both, and rightfully so.

Do note, that I heard it from people who may have seen th original news broadcast, or may have heard it from other people. In other words, I might be entirely wrong.
