2000 we had the "Y2K" crap, so people wanted to see if civilization was going to crumble and to be onhand for the looting if it did. 2001 was the real millenium. A friend of mine's mother around the 2000 new year was emailing every site that spelled millenium (much like I think I am) to tell them. I told her (the friend not the mom) that she should also point out that it didn't start until 2001, but she wouldn't for fear of her mom really getting out of hand... 2002 the year of the palindrome 2003... we have to have one.
