Click me. Standard we use in my office is the one on the left. Either will work as long as you wire both ends identically. And make sure your cable is under 200' in length if you are using Category 5. If you are using Category 3 cable, IIRC your line should be under 50' to push 100 BaseT signal. Other usual caveats apply, don't string close to strong EM emitting devices such as florecent fixtures.
