Router Question by cmantito 2002-12-29 11:13:23
I have an apache server running on port 86 over a cable modem from behind a Netgear MR814 router. I opened port 86, and pointed it at the apache computer (192.168.0.51). I have a domain alias that (C Name I think it's called?) that points webmail.kevinsnet.com to my IP address (68.45.32.187). If I go to 192.168.0.51:86 from inside my network, then I get the homepage for that apache server. If I go to webmail.kevinsnet.com:86 from inside my network, the connection times out. If I go to 68.45.32.187:86 from inside my network, it also times out. I've been working on some perl scripts that require it to be able to get to the images folder, which it sees at webmail.kevinsnet.com:86/webmail-images/. I want ot be able to use (and test) these scripts from inside my network without having to go through a public proxy server. My old Linksys BEFSR11 router had no problem with letting me go to it from inside, but we replaced the router and it won't let me.

Suggestions anyone?
