My two fave subjects. Bush and Religion! by Blackbyrd22006-11-19 12:55:59
  Y'know, I do NOT agree with Bush's quote, by adiplomat2002-12-27 21:31:34
    Atheism is not a religion. (n/t) by Blackbyrd22006-11-19 12:55:59
First off, I did answer that question in my by adiplomat2002-12-27 22:15:23
        I disagree. by Blackbyrd2 2002-12-27 23:06:15
I would agree the issue is moot if it wasn't his son in office now, who obviously holds similar views. Whether or not the AA should still be whining about it is a different matter. The reason I posted the link is because Bush Jr is very much his father's son, which made the article relevant to today's current events.

The fact that a course is patently ridiculous has never stopped a group from continuing to pursue it, sometimes even affecting the political/economic landscape years later. I'm not saying this is a good thing.

Are you religious? If so, does your comment mean that you deal with your own religion the way you deal with atheism? How is that, exactly? If you are not religious, then does that make you an atheist, and how does that affect your comment?

I disagree that atheists exhibit the same full range of behavior as other religious people. Atheists do not build shrines, altars or temples to their lack of God, nor do they pray to a non-existent deity. They do not observe special non-holy days, nor quote some revealed word of non-god to support their non-religious activities, wars, and missions.

The only activity which atheists engage in which is similar to religious folk is that some will promote their belief or lack thereof through argument, logic and reason. Oh wait. Religious people don't usually do that either.

Are some atheist arrogant a$$**les? I'm sure they are. That is not the exclusive province of religious types.

By the way, I am sure you know that the popularity argument is not valid. I'm not sure why you tried it.
