But considering what kind of man Thurmond was (and probably never really stopped being privately), and considering that Lott had already gotten slapped for the same stupid comment, you have to suspect that there's a subconscious desire to commit political suicide there. And any politicians who wish to commit suicide (political or otherwise), should be encouraged.
