but hte media has said he did. I don't trust the media, do you? As for saying Thurmond should have been president, so what? Doesn't make Lott racist. And Lott may be thinking more about other things than racism when making that judgment. He probebly realizes that Thurmond would be stopped (either by hte people or by Congress or hte Supreme Court) if he tried to make changes to how racism is dealt with. Given this, the rest of what Thurmond wants to do/feels the need to do may or may not be A Very Good Thing. I have no idea what Thurmond wants to do with the nation, but surely he doesn't more that spouting off racial comments or he wouldn't be a politician.
