Our trusty media took what was some normal DC ass-kissing (he said Thurmond should've been elected president while AT Thurmond's birthday party, after all) and turned it around into the most racist comment since George Wallace.

He said Strom Thurmond should've been President. He never said the segregationists should've been in power, he never said we should trample darkie and keep him down, he never said any of those things that every news outlet you could turn to twisted his words around into saying.

It's pretty sad when you've got to have speechwriters to research every sentence for possibly inflammatory undertones before you can say anything. Kinda like here.
