Had you or I posted it, I would agree with your analysis to a point. Without the inflection of the spoken word, we don't have any way of knowing what degree of derision was (un)intended. Personally, I would see it as more "And we should care...why?" then "Your post was wholly unimportant and uncalled for.", as it is more an expression of disinterest then antipathy. At best, it can be seen as a request for elaboration. Why should this be interesting?
To me, crash_'s blatantly rude response to a non-English speaker was far ruder than the worst interpretation of his post. It isn't as though she had really put anything of herself into the original post, so it shouldn't have been taken personally. She, on the other hand, opened her response with a direct attack on ozanbaba, not on his post. That was flat out rude, and that is why I responded. |
