| Since you like being annoying, I'll play the same way. ;-)
First, why are you asking me about what other people do? I reject the notion that anyone can guarantee "no consequences" to an illegal action. Because I'm not stupid enough to think such a guarantee is possible. But I never said that nobody could get away with an illegal action. Of course they can.
Reasonably certain != Certain
For that matter, I didn't say what you think about the stop sign. I figured you would fail to grasp the difference, but I thought I'd give you a chance before spelling it out. Here's what I actually said:
"Same reason I still stop at a four way stop in the middle of nowhere when I can see all four directions and nobody is around. I'm not 'reasonably' sure there will be no repurcussions to blowing thru the stop."
Note that "not being reasonably sure of repurcussions" doesn't mean "not being certain that nobody is around". It means that I don't know what will happen.
As to why I drive, it's because I need to get to point A from point B via car. Duh.
I have no choice about some risks, and so I take them as necessary. For other risks, I do have a choice, and I try to weigh the risks carefully.
Why in the hell do you drive if you haven't figured that out by now? You are a menace. |
