My friend's wife left him. Took his truck. She was tracked down to bakersfield california. Friend and I went there to get the truck back but just missed her. We came back to MN. 4 months later wife and friend were talking and figured to meet in Denver to trade his truck for the car she left behind. SO friend and I plan on heading out and bring another buddy with. Buddy is driving down I-35 heading to Iowa. My friend and I tell buddy to head West when you hit I-80. Basically when you see Des Moines take a right! Buddy is driving and friend fell asleep. Shortly after, I fell asleep. I wake up to darkness and one of them large green signs that show how many miles you hvae left till the next city... The sign said "Kansas City 106 Miles". This is the following conversation. Me: uhh rob. What did that sign just say? Rob (driving): Kansas city 106. Me: uh-huh. Where are we going? Rob: Denver Me: Is this some short cut that you failed to tell us about? Rob: what? Me: You were supposed to head West on I-80 back in Des Moines. Rob: What? Me: You know that town you were born in! The one that has I 35 and I 80 intersecting?! YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO GO WEST ON 80!! Rob: uh-oh. James Wakes up. James: What's all the yelling? Me (to Rob): You want to tell him or should I? James: Tell me what? Rob: uhhhhh Me: well? James: What are them lights up ahead? Is that Omaha? Me: Kansas City. James: what? Rob: uuhhhh Me: yep from this point it was pretty much yelling and screaming by everyone and not a whole heck of alot was understandable. It's been 3 years since that trip and we've never let Rob forget. In fact... I brought it up two nights ago.
