It's just more convenient for you, and the choice 99.995 of people would make, is all :).

Certain Buddhists walk with broom sort of things sweeping in front of them to avoid stepping even on bugs, to avoid killing. They point out the self-serving bias in your statement "have to kill," and would choose to not do any such thing. But few people have the courage or strength of convictions to follow through on that whole "shalt not kill" thing without tacking on "...unless convenient for me" onto the end. But then buddhists have always made better judeo-christians than judeo-christians anyway =8)
