His parents came from the Ukraine, his sister is listed as Polish, Canadian citizen by marriage. We're not sure of anything on that side of the family, we thought grandad was called Frederick until he died and we found something else listed on his birth certificate. He claimed not to have known what his parents names were, or anything about *their* parents, and his sister doesn't talk to us because he didn't leave her anything.
The itchy feet gene seems to have skipped dad completely, as he only managed to move 100 yards down the road. i've had a quick abortive attempt at moving to California, but now it looks like I'm going to Yorkshire, at least for a bit. The more I learn about America, the less it appeals. |
