...it's very simple. The U.S. is run by it's business sector. Really, don't be fooled, they run everything. All they're trying to do is protect their interests so they can trade with other countries some more. A nuclear war would really put a damper in that goal, you know. Trade($) is the reason the U.S. does ANYTHING AT ALL.
What I mean by all this is... well, here's an example: After WWII, much of Europe was devestated. But we played a big part in rebuilding it. Why? Cause we have big hearts? Nah, it's so the European markets would be open to us again. There's money to be made, you know. And that;s all fine and dandy, I just with we'd be honest about it. We seem to be a country to likes to whitewash EVERYTHING. (A good example of this is policial correctness)
(I'd like to point out that "trade" and "money" and "industry" and all that is the reason that any country does anything. We just lie about it and hide behing Uncle Sam and patriotism; you know, we pretend like were a great country with big hearts and all that crap.)
