Two pistol crossbows, which is one of the things she teaches, and indeed is pictured with in the Assassin's Guild diary. Most of the time they were concealed under my skirts, on a specially constructed suspender belt affair, but once I'd pulled them out on stage during the Maskerade, everyone wanted them in the pictures.
I had quite a bit of other stuff concealed about my person, all of it approved by security. The crossbows shouldn't have been, as they *did* fire, and quite a distance if held just right, but I didn't load them except when demonstrating to security what happened when you *didn't* hold them exactly right. I made the mistake of doing this pissed late one night, with, as always, my hand in front of the 'bolt' (they were Sainsburys barbecue skewers shortened and sprayed black) and while the bolt would have just 'dropped' out the front (they got caught on the way out if not perfectly balanced), my hand was too close and it hit me before getting to the point where it would have got stuck.
Thankfully either the security guy didn't notice, or was convinced of their safety by the toughness of my hands...
Still, it wasn't *me* that gave PTerry the *sharp* Katana to wave at the organiser in the closing ceremonies... |
