I go across the river occasionally to buy fireworks and visit people who live over there. I used to go at least once a year to the Belle Chasse Naval Station for the airshow. I live two miles from the Huey P. Long Bridge and it scares me every time I drive over it. I-10 is a good idea. US 90 is a treacherous mess in spots. They've got 70 mph speed limits out in the swamps and 35 mph speed traps in the little towns along the way. I don't mind visiting the West Bank, but I sure wouldn't want to live over there. Too many of the insular sort for my tastes.
