Quick question for non-Americans: by slayer2002-12-27 05:59:39
Why would we? by yoyo 2002-12-27 06:21:00
no one seems to oppose the fact that the US produces nuclear grade plutonium, probably can't account for all of it and would not hesitate to use it against any nation deemed "evil." Oh, but wait, the US are the good, righteous defenders of world peace in the free world, therefore, who are we to be opposed to what our friendly ally would do?

More seriously, though, if other nations of the world were opposed to the US bombing that plant, what would they oppose this with? kick and scream, b*tch and moan, that the US shouldn't have done that? Take it up to the UN and draft a resolution, that would be vetoed by 2 of the 5 permanent members of the security council? Take up military actions against the US (chuckles). The sad reality of it all is that the US can do whatever they please and there is not one country in the world that can prevent that. It would be a different story if the EU decided to unite its power and threaten a full commercial and diplomatic ban of the US.

Maybe in 50 years, but not now.

My French-expat-in-the-us 2 cents.
