| Well we've got Sigma Web Focus now, so no more pink donut. Most of the testing's done, but there were problems with GPR so that got held up, John Spanton's just doing the testing document now, ready for us to systematically break it when people are back.
I'm not entirely sure how SWF works, but the server's still SCO, which I didn't realise back in June, as I hadn't really done anything with it. I had hoped to learn more about the unix side of things, but I don't deal with that at all any more, apart from my OSX stuff at home.
Until I looked back at the diary, I didn't realise how long I'd been working on the XPe buffer unit. JK was quite impressed when I managed to get support from MS, but I still think it would have been better done with some form of unix, if only because XPe is such a new thing, and I'm not really inclined to trust new things, especially new things from MS - but then, I'm a mac user.
As for not being qualifed, I'm not really sure I'm cut out for IT. I don't know a great deal about unix, I never seem to have time to learn, windows annoys me, and nowhere much uses MacOSX. Probably better off doing Something Else after I leave BTS, and just keep computers as a hobby.
Could always do dressmaking I suppose. ;) |
