OK, why not? by imperito2002-12-27 00:04:39
My share of the fun by dnevill 2002-12-27 03:11:18
A very cool "maneki neko" (for the non Japanophiles out there, it's a "lucky cat"...technically "beckoning cat"... the sort you see in front of homes and businesses, with one paw raised up in the air), a ReBoot DVD, a couple books on the Japanese language...one of which is titled Japanese Street Slang, and seems to be almost entirely profanities. Quite an interesting choice, as it came from my non-swearing grandmother.

However, the gift that I've been having the most fun with: The Slackware 8.1 distribution CDs (4-cd set), with an old junker computer thrown in so I have something to use it on. Sure, that 16 meg, Pentium 133 machine isn't very impressive, but it lets me avoid the frustrating habit of trying to "alt-tab" between Linux and Windows (for the short stint earlier this year where I had ZipSlack on my Windows computer).

I've been enjoying every minute on my Linux box. So many doors have been opened that Windows refuses to believe are there, even if I still know very little about what's beyond those doors...(so many potential ways to seriously damage my computer, I love it!)
Merry Post-Christmas!
