What really made someone's face light up (apart from the Terry's All-Gold)?
Best christmas present I gave was probably dad's hand-painted beer mug. He's been going on about how realistic a rainbow trout it is ever since. Yay for arty friends.
Best gift given was actually an early birthday present, of a Nokia 3310e, with voice dialing. Got all her numbers put in, and she's got the hang of using it quite nicely. I'll give her a few days to get used to making an answering calls, then I'll see about teaching her how to use the hands-free kit (better if she's out, cause there's a lot of mobile theft in London) and a couple more of the keys (at the moment all she has to use is the multi-purpose key under the screen and * for locking it). I got a couple of extra top-up swipe cards so we can add credit for her, as well.
So now, mum and dad don't have to worry about where she is, and she doesn't have to worry about them not knowing. I have one very chuffed partially sighted faux-granny. |
