100 years ago. The only difference being that in 1902 we (UK) could just blow up anyone who disagreed with us and no-one noticed. Nowadays the risks are too great (cf Nuclear War &c) and, thanks to Marconi et al, the whole world knows all about it 23 seconds later... All that said, I have to agree with the (Australian goddammit) lady who said that Americans' greatest fault is that you have an irony deficiency. Laugh and the world laughs with you. Get pissed-off and they laugh at you - it works that way in school as well as the UN.
