it - it does say that they tried to infect the same cell with both strains, but only succeeded at infecting with one at a time. ( "unable to infect the same cell with both strains") I assume, they would explicitly state that they could not infect the cell with either, if that had happened. But, it doesn't say whether both strains occupy the same cell within humans or what level of interaction the two have on each other within the body.
