I'm all for research. I just don't think there's much we can do to stop HIV in 3rd world countries if the people there won't help themselves first.

But thanks for the clarification on the bleeding. Even if the child has HIV, I would still try to stop the bleeding (assuming I didn't just faint instead). As long as the blood doesn't get into any cuts, I think I'd be ok. Even if it did, it's no guarantee that I would get infected or develop AIDS.

Of course, this doesn't mean I have the right to make someone ELSE risk their life by helping the bleeding child.
