sounds like my grandparents by Gary_7 2002-12-01 12:08:25
who have cable and what do they watch? the two local PBS stations. Well that's all my grandmother watches and my grandfather will watch sports, without the sound. He watches golf and mutes the volume. Talk about extreme boredom. But what makes this so funny is that my grandfather *channel surfs* here's a man that would rather read than watch tv and he channel surfs. I about fell off my chair the first time he said "i was flipping through the channels......" I still think it's funny!

These are folks that are so techno-deficient it's funny! They were still using an old rotary phone until one of the kids got them a portable. Except my grandmother has this habit of leaving it on when she's done. They have an electric pencil sharpener, so when i come to visit, they get me to sharpen the pencils!! They got a word processor that comes with a spreadsheet, not b/c they wanted to spreadsheet but b/c they wanted the separate larger screen that came with that model. They will NOT buy a computer. I keep trying to convince them to get one of these email stations so they can keep in touch with the kids and grandkids but no, that's too much like a computer. I even tried telling them about webtv and they wouldn't do it. When they need something from the internet they call me up and ask me to get it for them. It's just funny to watch them.
