Over here, those who "pretend to follow the news" are busier with attacks in Kenya and attempts to disrupt the local elections, thank you very much.
Oh, I know what Disney is - though I didn't realize that emblem on the ship was Mickey-mouse, but knowing Disney, Illiad could not have drawn it clearer without getting sued forthwith. I have no problem with American Pop-culture sipping into mine. Actually, a large number of people here call any cartoon "Mickey Mouse", be they Disney, Warner, or Hanna-Barbera.
But I do have an issue with Americans thinking it obvious that everybody is American, everybody is tuned in to American news, etc. Oh, and calling their national championships "world championship", and "world series". As if. |
