thinking you're going to make any money (as in 'large coin'). Do it because you enjoy the field. There are lots of opportunities and you will make a 'living wage'. It helps to have an SO to contribute to the household as well. You ask "Do I know what I'm talking about?" Heh. Been in Science for over 20 years now and recently completed my Ph. D. because I wasn't getting ahead. I think I may have priced myself out of the job market, though :( Looking for a good postdoc at the moment. Visit my diary if you want to talk more on the subject. Don't look on 32 as 'too old', btw. That's nonsense!
