Suppression of evidence by flamebait2006-11-19 12:55:59
Lawyer was not present. by YakkoWarner 2002-11-11 14:18:17
Discovery Channel (or TLC or one of the other sub-channels) ran a show about people pressed into confessing to crimes they didn't commit and ended up being sentenced based on the confession alone. In one case, a woman and her boyfriend were sentenced for murder of a baby that never existed. (Woman faked a pregnancy to get out of jail, incompetent doctor believed her, and 9 months later when no baby appeared, they were arrested and pressed to admit to murdering the child.) So it wouldn't surprise me much if they successfully threw out the confession.
