will taint the jury, allowing for the defense to ask for a mistrial. Though that's not quite what this is about.
If law enforcements actions have no bearing in the case, then there will open up the possibility for greater violations of policy. We're losing rights as it it, you want to be convicted of something because you confessed to something under great duress (read: almost beaten to death) and they weren't allowed to supress the confession? Yeah, sometimes they do tend to nitpick on what law enforcement does, but there are procedures for a reason. |
